2017 Coach Announcement

7 Oct 2016 by Luke Leviston

Monash Blues are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Passador as the Club’s senior coach for 2017.

Mark presented as an outstanding candidate, sharing with us his vision for the Club well into the future, beginning with a cohesive and energetic plan for 2017 in Premier B.

“We were very impressed with Old Scotch in our three encounters in 2016. On each occasion they played to a plan, moved the ball very well and played with fantastic spirit. Accordingly, we are delighted to have secured Mark’s services.” said Club President Julian Smith.

“We are very confident that Mark is perfectly positioned to build on the work done by Paul Groves over the past two seasons, and see us compete strongly in Premier B in 2017”.

In addition to his senior coach role at Old Scotch over the past two seasons, Mark had a distinguished playing career. With 5 years in A Grade at Old Scotch, 6 years and a premiership at Woodville West Torrens, premierships with the Box Hill Hawks and Springvale and a stint at Carlton.

In 2016, Monash Blues played in Premier B for the first time since 1992, and played finals in that grade for the first time since 1974. Many of that 1974 team attended the final at Trevor Barker Oval, and look forward to the Monash Blues of 2017 emulating their efforts of 42 years ago by earning promotion to the VAFA’s Premier division.
