Premier C League B&F

Another well done from the club is due to Tim McKenzie for wining the L.S. Zachariah Medal medal as the Best and Fairest player in Premier C. This sees him join Peter Robinson (1964), Jamie Sturgess (1991) and George Smyth (2005) as Monash Blues players to have won the C-section award.

Tim’s haul of 25 votes included seven occasions where he was judged to be best afield. Given big brother Jim also received 8 votes this year, the McKenzie clan can be proud and may even be able to make a claim to be the VAFA’s premier family.

Veterans Andrew Hickey (12 votes) and George Smyth (6 votes) were other Monash players who caught the umpires eye, while Joe Cosgriff’s (6 votes) goal kicker exploits were also well received by the men in white.
