Michael Chapman - 150 games

2 Jun 2016 by James Gray

The Monash Blues Football Club would like to congratulate Michael Chapman on reaching his 150 game milestone. Better known around the club as Nibbler, he followed his older brother, Muncha, down to the club in 2003 playing in the under 19s and is one of the very small list of players who have played and kicked goals in the Firsts, Seconds, Thirds, Fourths and Unders.

Michael was awarded Life Membership in 2014 and also finished runner up in the Reserves Best and Fairest in 2009. His on field highlights include kicking freakish goals and taking hangers on opponents twice his size. He never backs down from a contest and is an exciting player who is always entertaining to watch.

Some of Nibbler’s best work however, happens off the field, using “Story time with Nibbler” to convey events in a way that can’t be written down. He is also one to watch on vote count day, whether creating a memorable chants, being one of the best dressed early on or with his eagerness to demonstrate his brainpower later in the day.

A regular on Footy Trips, “The Sunday Specialist” loves a tag and has been known to target a big scalp, often taking down club legends such as Smyth, Rosengarten and Jacques to name a few. There is no doubt Nibbler is a certain future hall of famer when it comes to footy trips.

As one of the favourite characters around the club, guys like Nibbler are why it is so enjoyable to be part of the Monash Blues Football Club. He is well supported by his family, with his parents Chris and Kerry only missing a handful of his 150 games. Well done on the milestone and we all look forward to many more bags being kicked along the way as you continue your illustrious football career with the Monash Blues.
