Further coaching appointments

13 Nov 2014 by James Gray

Hope you are all kicking goals and looking forward to the launch of our 2015 season at Spider’s place tomorrow night. If you have not already done so, please confirm if you are attending on TeamApp (https://monashblues.teamapp.com/events/108677-2015-season-launch) or Facebook.

Two more exciting appointments for 2015

The MBFC are very excited to announce that Michael Sandry will be assisting Paul Groves as his senior assistant coach for the 2015 season.

Mick had a distinguished career as a player for both Mulgrave (EFL) and UHS-VU (VAFA) before beginning his career as a coach at UHS-VU. After back to back reserves premierships he was appointed coach of the Melbourne University Women’s FC. During his past three years in this role Mick has had outstanding results and has also taken up opportunities to be head coach of both the Women’s Vic Country side and the 2014 women’s Western Bulldogs squad.

Mick impressed us as a well-credentialed (level 2 accredited), young and enthusiastic coach, who is a terrific bloke and keen football student. Please make a big effort to welcome Mick to the Club on Friday night at the Season Launch.

In more fantastic news for the Club, we are very pleased to confirm that Shane Paynter will continue in his role as Reserves coach in 2015. The 2014 season saw considerable improvement in our reserves side from a game style and consistency perspective. We are hopeful with another year under Shane our reserves will continue to be very competitive, develop senior players and improve on their impressive finals berth last season.

Congratulations and welcome (back in Paynts’ case) to both.
