100 Games - Sam Walsh

23 Apr 2015 by James Gray

Congratulations to Monash Blues’ Sam Walsh on playing his 100th game for the Club this weekend. Since coming down from Queensland and joining the under 19s in 2008, Walshy has become one of the great clubman at the Ashes and is universally loved as a terrific bloke by all around the Club.

Walshy, a skilful and mercurial forward noted for his exceptionally large dukes, gives 100% each time he runs out onto the ground and has been a consistent performer across all teams throughout the past few seasons. Most notable was Walshy’s extraordinary senior performance out at PEGS in 2013, where with Monash leading by a mere 6 points heading into the last and kicking into a 5 goal breeze, Walshy stood up and took 15 contested grabs across half back to carry us over the line. This performance will forever be etched in Monash folklore.

Walshy’s dedication to the Club while managing his blossoming medical career is something to be admired.

Well done on reaching your milestone, you are a true Ashes’ champion!
