JOE COSGRIFF - 100 GAMES

24 May 2019 by Luke Leviston

A massive congratulations to Joe Cosgriff who achieves his 100th senior cap for the club this weekend in a massive game against Haileybury. Arriving at the club in 2012 Joe quickly found his way into the senior side with his uncle and own blood being the senior coach. Joe quickly proved himself as a capable ruckman and forward and earned him the nickname Zeus, which became Hodor as his teammates got to know him. A true clubman on and off the field Joe has been a massive part of building today’s club culture and was instrumental in delivering the club to B Grade.

After stepping away from the game for a year in 2015 Hodor returned to the club spruiking his ability as a Nick Riewoldt type CHF much to the delight of senior Coach Mark Passador. Unfortunately for Joe he soon found himself in his natural habitat of the backline, and has handled himself with aplomb since, regularly taking on and beating the opposition’s best forward. An extremely passionate player Hodor’s effort and application to the contest has never been questioned as he has put together a huge body of work, playing some monumental games for the club and collecting a Big V jumper along the way. Good luck on the weekend HOEY and congratulations!
