Marty Phillips 150 Games

20 Aug 2015 by James Gray

Since his debut for the under 19’s in 2004, Marty has been a loyal servant of the Ashes and this week notches up his 150th game for the club in the C Section Thirds preliminary final against PEGS. Marty has been a reserves doyen over many years, dropping back into the 3rds in recent times as his hamstrings have progressively tightened.

Reliable as a pacey backman or pinch-hitting crumbing forward, Marty is the recipient of many a Coaches Awards and other pieces of recognition over the years, recently taking over the duties as Club Secretary to add to his impressive off-field contributions.

Marty is without doubt a club legend, and neither a two year hiatus to Canada nor his recent lack of proximity to the club has dwelled his enthusiasm, and resolve, to make a contribution each week. Wishing you and your loyal fanclub of Erin and Oscar all the best in your 150th game!
